At CJ Hicks Elementary, group counseling services are designed to meet the needs of individual students, the school, and the community. These needs are identified through student data, referrals, and other relevant information. Starting in October, we will offer small groups based on data and referrals from teachers or parents/guardians. Groups will meet at various times in our counseling office to avoid students missing class. Each group will typically have 4-6 students from the same or similar grade levels, selected based on the topic. Students can sign up for a group, be referred by a teacher or parent, or be chosen by the counselor. Parents will be notified if their child is invited to participate through a permission letter or a phone call from the counselor.
***Confidentiality is stressed at the first meeting.
