The purpose of the CJH Music Club is to serve our school, city, and beyond through our unique signature way of musical expression. We will give students a deeper understanding of the fine arts. Second graders are selected for the Wee Music Club. Third graders may join the Junior Music Club. Selected 3rd, 4th and 5th graders may participate in the Fantastic Falcons Music Club.

 DUDES
(Dynamic Upright Dedicated Esteemed Students)
D.U.D.E.S. (Dynamic, Upright, Dedicated, and Esteemed Students) is a mentoring program designed exclusively for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade boys. Our goal is to generate positive attitudes, self-esteem, self-awareness, and pride. The D.U.D.E.S. benefit from many opportunities to participate in field trips, community service projects, and organizational meetings. Members are also encouraged to participate in many group discussions that will include such topics as conflict resolution, personal hygiene, academic achievement and long-term goals.

Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl
Reading Club seeks to promote a book-loving culture by providing a forum for second to fifth grade students to discuss and actively respond to books in meaningful ways. The Helen Ruffin Bowl (HRRB) Competitive Team is a component of this club. The 4th and 5th graders on the HRRB Team will participate in Rockdale's Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl in January, after reading selections from the Georgia Book Awards Nominee List.

Beta Club
National Junior Beta Club is an honor organization that recognizes outstanding academic achievement, promotes strong character and social responsibility, encourages service to others, fosters leadership skills, and provides settings for students to develop strong interpersonal skills.

Young Ladies of Distinction
Rose Petals is an all-girl's mentoring program designed especially for 4th and 5th grade girls. The program helps to celebrate individuality while providing a safe space for the young ladies to connect and share their voices and common experiences.

WCJH News Team




The WCJH News Team produces and broadcasts the WCJH Daily News Show. The news team informs C.J. Hicks students and staff of activities and events occurring throughout the school day and week. This club provides opportunities to enhance public speaking skills as well as participate in various roles such as anchor, teleprompter, and producer. Membership is open to 4th grade students whose applications are accepted based on attendance, responsibility, teacher recommendation and an audition.

 CJH Science Olympiad
The C.J. Hicks Science Olympiad Club provides opportunities for students to develop hands-on standards-aligned STEM content. Students will engage in teamwork, problem solving and collaboration. Our club will provide industry and education partners a platform to share subject-matter expertise to promote a strong and more diverse STEM workforce.

 PBIS Ambassadors
PBIS
The PBIS Ambassadors are a team of 3rd & 4th grade students who represent the school's climate, culture, and morale. This team meets with the PBIS Coach & Team Leader monthly to report student observations and gives input for future PBIS initiatives. The ambassadors serve as behavior leaders of excellence and always promote RISE expectations.
