 Greetings Falcon Families,

Whether you are a new, or returning family, I want to warmly welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year. As I begin my sixth year as the proud principal of C.J. Hicks Elementary, I am beyond excited about the first day of school as well as the days, weeks, and months ahead. I am also confident that we will work together to ensure that C.J. Hicks is a great place for everyone to work, learn, and grow.

 To stay well informed throughout the school year, be sure that you create a Parent Portal and Canvas Observer account in Infinite Campus, sign-up to receive Remind messages, check your child’s communication folder each Wednesday, listen to the Sunday messages, read The Falcon Flyer each month, maintain an open line of communication with your child’s teacher, sign-up for a parent-teacher conference each semester, and attend all school events with pride.

 Research has shown that your child's regular attendance may be the greatest factor influencing his/her academic success. Please commit to sending your child to school on time each day that your child is feeling well. For your convenience, we have a before school program that opens at 6:00 am, with a fee of $30 per week. Car riders may enter the building beginning at 7:05 am. Our instructional day will begin promptly at 7:35 am. Being on time for school is the best way for our Falcons to be prepared for a full day of teaching and learning.

 Early checkout ends at 1:40 pm and dismissal begins at 2:10 pm each day. Please be certain that your child’s teacher is aware of how they will get home each day. It is safest when the afternoon mode of transportation remains consistent. Before the first day of school, please settle on if your child will be a car rider, bus rider, or attend our M.O.R.E. after school program. There is a fee of $75 per week for the M.O.R.E. after school program and the last pick-up is at 6:30 pm. To register for our before and after school program, visit the CJH webpage.

 Open House is Thursday, July 25, 2024, and we look forward to seeing you in person. Our first day of school with students is Tuesday, July 30, 2024. After the first day of school, we will implement “kiss-and-go” and I want to assure you that CJH staff members will be on post daily to support all students with getting to class safely throughout the school year.

While there, please also take some time to browse our webpage and become familiar with it as we will keep the information updated regularly. Whenever you have questions or concerns, please call the school first, as we are happy to assist you.
